Walker's Nonsuch Liquorice Toffees Gift Box - 350g

In Britain, Walker's Nonsuch is one of the names behind proper old-fashioned toffee: the chewy kind from the corner shop, the bag in the glovebox, the one your nan always seemed to have in her handbag. The liquorice version is the one for grown-ups who never grew out of it.

People in Canada go looking for it because liquorice toffee is a very particular taste. Once it is yours, nothing else scratches the same itch, and a long way from home it is exactly the sort of small thing you miss without expecting to.

The gift box holds 350g, which is a decent haul for one person and a fair test of willpower for a household. Keep it somewhere cool and dry with the lid back on, and it will sit happily in the cupboard until somebody finds it. Someone always finds it.

It goes very well with a pot of tea and a long afternoon. If liquorice is not everyone's thing in your house, Walker's Nonsuch makes other toffees too, so there is no need for a fight over the last one.
