Rowntree's Jelly Tots Giant Tube - 115g

Jelly Tots live in the same corner of the British sweet shop as Fruit Pastilles and Fruit Gums, the fruity side of the Rowntree's family. They were never the grown-up sweet. They were the one that turned up at every birthday party, usually in a paper bag with a balloon and a slice of cake wrapped in a napkin.

That is exactly why people in Canada go looking for them. Nobody misses a sweet for the flavour alone. They miss the colourful little handful, the sticky fingers, and being eight.

The giant tube holds 115g, which is a fair bit more than the small packets most of us remember. Keep it in a cool, dry cupboard and it will wait patiently, although in most houses it does not get the chance. It is handy for lunchboxes, road trips and the bowl on the coffee table that everyone swears they are not picking at.

If Jelly Tots are on your list, Fruit Pastilles and Randoms tend to end up in the basket too. A few British sweets together make a very good parcel for someone who has been away from home a while.
