A chicken pot pie should taste as though somebody went to some trouble on a Sunday, and this is the pie of ours that comes closest. Free-range chicken from Oulton's in Windsor, Nova Scotia goes into our own chicken gravy with peas and carrots. It does not need anything clever added to it.
The pastry goes all the way round: puff, made from scratch in our Halifax bakery, on the top and on the bottom. So there is a crust on the way in, and another one waiting at the end for whatever gravy you failed to catch.
Each pie is five inches across, and this is one of our top sellers, so it rarely hangs about. You can buy it hot at our Bayers Lake counter from opening until roughly 2 to 3 pm, depending on the day and on how much is left, or chilled to heat at home. In Halifax, Uber Eats will bring one to your door chilled. We do not ship pies, so this is strictly a Nova Scotia pleasure.

How to heat it
It is already fully cooked, so this is only about warming it through. From chilled, allow 10 to 15 minutes in the air fryer, or 30 to 35 minutes in the oven at 365°F, until the middle is piping hot. Keep it away from the microwave, unless soggy pastry is what you were after.
