Canada's Top Reviewed British Shop
Sweets from the bottom of a party bag, still being talked about decades later.
Swizzels Drumstick lollies and chew bars offer the familiar sweet in different formats. One is on a stick; the other requires you to supply slightly more of the holding arrangements yourself. The flavour has already done most of the persuasive work.
Some sweets are less about the sugar and more about the memory, and Swizzels sits firmly in that category. This small collection brings together a few of the names people still talk about from corner shop counters, school trips and the bottom of a party bag, starting with Swizzels Originals Parma Violets in a 130g bag, a smaller 40g pack of the same floral favourite, and Swizzels Matlow Giant Love Hearts in a 39g pack. It is a short list, but these are the sweets people miss, and they do not need much introduction once someone spots the packet. Whether you are topping up a sweet jar in Halifax, adding something nostalgic to a Toronto order, or sending a bit of childhood to a friend in Vancouver, this page keeps the Swizzels side of the British sweet shop in one place.
Few British sweets split opinion quite like Parma Violets. Those small, chalky, perfumed tablets are either a proper treat or a puzzle, and there is rarely much middle ground. The 130g Originals bag suits anyone who already knows which side they are on and would rather not run out, while the 40g pack is handy for a quick fix, a stocking filler, or introducing someone new to the flavour and watching their face carefully.
Swizzels Matlow Giant Love Hearts are the bigger version of the classic fizzy tablets with short printed messages on the front, the sort passed around a classroom or handed over with a straight face at the worst possible moment. They work well in party bags, card envelopes and gift boxes, and they are just as good eaten quietly at a desk while you read every message before deciding which one to keep.
Finding a specific British sweet in Canada can turn into a long search across several shops, so this collection keeps it simple. Orders ship from Canada, which makes it easier to get Swizzels delivered whether you are in Ottawa, Calgary, Edmonton or Montréal, or sending a small sweet emergency to Victoria, Winnipeg, Kitchener, Moncton, Dartmouth or St. John’s. Add a few packs alongside chocolate, crisps and biscuits from the rest of the shop, and you have a proper British sweet order without the hunting.
