Behind the lid
A tale of two Halifaxes
Harold Mackintosh came from a family of toffee makers in Halifax, West Yorkshire. Quality Street put chewy toffees, fruit cremes and chocolates in the same tin, each in its own wrapper. Nestlé makes the assortment today. The tub still has Halifax on the lid; our parcels have the other Halifax on the label. That makes us unreasonably pleased.
