Thorntons Classic Chocolate Box - 449g

In Britain, Thorntons sits in that comfortable spot between the corner-shop bar and something you would need to book a table for. It is the box you buy when you want someone to know you made an effort, without anybody having to dress up.

Over here, people come looking for it because a box of chocolates is never just a box of chocolates. It is the one your gran kept on the side table, the one every visiting aunt seemed to bring. When a birthday or a thank-you needs to taste like home, this is the one people ask for by name.

It is a 449g box, which is plenty for a room full of people, or for one very determined person over a week. Keep it somewhere cool and dry, well away from the radiator and the sunny windowsill, and put the lid back on between rounds. Nobody ever does, but you should.

Thorntons is just as well known at home for its toffee and fudge, so if you are already reaching for the Classic, it is worth a look at what else of theirs we have in. One for the table, one for the cupboard you do not tell anyone about.
