M&S Digestives - 400g

The digestive is the backbone of the British biscuit tin. It is never the one people fight over first, and it is always the one still there at the end of the week, which is exactly why everyone keeps buying it.

People in Canada search for the M&S name in particular because that was the shop. The food hall run on a Saturday, the packet your mum put in the trolley without looking, the biscuits at your nan's. It is that exact taste with a cuppa that people are after.

This is the 400g packet, which goes further than you would think and nowhere near as far as you would hope. It keeps happily in the cupboard; once it is open, a clip on the end keeps them crisp. Dunk them, crumble them over ice cream, press them into a cheesecake base, or put one next to a slab of cheddar and see what happens.

M&S makes a long line of biscuits back home, and the digestive is the everyday one. Most people put a box of proper British tea in the basket alongside, because a digestive without tea is just a biscuit waiting for its moment.
