Lucozade Energy Original - 900ml

Lucozade sits in that small club of British drinks that everyone has a memory of and an opinion on. It lives in the fridge of every corner shop and petrol station from Cornwall to Caithness, usually within arm's reach of the meal deal.

Search for it from Canada and you are rarely after a fizzy drink in general. You are after this one. It usually starts with a cold, or a long week, and the sudden certainty that only a Lucozade will sort you out.

The 900ml bottle is the sharing size, or the not-sharing size, depending on the day. It is at its best properly cold, so into the fridge it goes, then into a glass, or straight from the bottle if nobody is watching. Screw the cap back on tight and the fizz holds up.

It tends to land in the basket alongside the other things people miss: a bag of proper British crisps, a bar of Cadbury, a box of Yorkshire Tea. Call it a poorly-day kit, or just a good Saturday.
