Kelloggs Coco Pops - 420g

In Britain, Coco Pops are the box children campaign for in the cereal aisle, and the box adults buy "for the kids" and then eat at ten at night, standing at the kitchen counter. Coco the monkey has been on the front for about as long as anyone can remember.

Move abroad and breakfast is one of the first things that feels slightly off. You want the box you grew up with, the taste you know and the crunch you know, and the search usually starts with "UK Coco Pops Canada" typed in a fit of homesickness before the kettle has boiled.

The 420g box is a good family size. Fold the inner bag down, clip it if you are the organised sort, and it keeps happily in the cupboard. A bowl with cold milk is the classic. Plenty of people swear by a handful dry, straight from the box, in front of the telly.

Kellogg's is behind a fair chunk of the British breakfast table, Corn Flakes and Rice Krispies included. Coco Pops tend to land in the basket next to a jar of proper marmalade, a box of tea and whatever biscuits are going for elevenses.
