Galaxy Smooth Caramel Bar - 135g

In Britain, Galaxy is the chocolate people pick when they want comfort rather than crunch. The caramel bar sits right next to the plain milk one at every till in the country, and most households have a firm opinion on which is better.

People in Canada search for it by name because a memory is specific. It is not chocolate and caramel in general, it is that exact softness, that slow stretch of caramel, the taste of a break-time at school or a long drive up the motorway.

This is a bar built for sharing, at least in theory, and it breaks into squares for handing round. Keep it somewhere cool and out of the sun so the caramel stays soft and the chocolate stays glossy. Some swear by the fridge for a firmer bite, which is a perfectly acceptable opinion to be wrong about.

It tends to end up in the basket next to a box of proper tea bags and a few other bars from home. A cup of tea and a row of this is about as British as an evening in gets.
