Cadbury Mini Eggs Special Gestures Egg - 238g

In Britain, Easter runs on chocolate eggs, and Cadbury Mini Eggs are the ones with a fan club. The speckled pastel colours turn up in the shops and suddenly it is spring, whatever the weather says.

From Canada, you go looking for this one because Easter morning had a shape to it: the egg on the kitchen table, the box torn open before breakfast, the quiet negotiation over who gets the last Mini Egg. The Cadbury Mini Eggs Special Gestures Egg is the one with the familiar purple on the front, and that matters more than it should.

It is a 238g gift egg, so it makes a good parcel for a sibling, a grandchild or the friend who still talks about Easter at their gran's. Keep it somewhere cool and dry, away from the radiator, and ideally out of sight if you want it to survive until Sunday.

People tend to buy it alongside a bag of Mini Eggs for the garden hunt, a Creme Egg or two and a pack of hot cross buns for Good Friday. Cadbury makes a whole shelf of Easter eggs, and most households have a firm favourite.
