Cadbury Curly Wurly Squirles - 85g

The Curly Wurly has been on the corner shop counter in Britain for generations. It always looked like better value than anything next to it, and it took longer to eat, which mattered when you were nine. The Squirles keep the chew and lose the faff.

It is the sort of sweet you do not think about for years, then suddenly need. Somebody mentions it, or you spot the wrapper in an old photo, and that is it. Searching for it by name usually means you can already taste it.

The 85g bag is a sharing bag in theory. The pieces are loose and bite-sized, so they go in a lunchbox, on the arm of the sofa during a film, or into a bowl that empties faster than anyone admits. Keep the bag somewhere cool and dry, away from the radiator, so the chocolate holds its shape.

People who pick these up tend to wander over to the rest of the Cadbury shelf: a Dairy Milk, a Crunchie, a Wispa, or a Freddo for whoever claims they did not want any Squirles and then ate most of them.
