Cadbury Buttons Medium Egg - 128g

In Britain, Buttons sit at the very start of the Cadbury ladder. They are the first chocolate a lot of children are trusted with: small, flat, easy to share and somehow never actually shared. The medium egg is the Easter version, and for plenty of families it is the egg that comes first.

People in Canada go looking for it for two reasons. Parents want their children to have the same Easter morning they had. Grown-ups, quietly, want it for themselves, and the egg does not ask questions.

At 128g it is a proper medium: big enough to feel like an occasion, small enough that a second egg is not out of the question. Keep it somewhere cool and dry, well away from the radiator, and it will sit happily in the cupboard until Easter Sunday, assuming it is hidden better than last year.
