Branston Small Chunk Pickle Squeezy - 350G

In Britain, cheese and pickle is not so much a sandwich as a fixed point. Pubs, petrol station fridges, school lunchboxes and work canteens all have one, and the pickle in question is nearly always Branston.

Here in Canada, the cheddar is the easy bit. The pickle is what people end up hunting for, usually after one sandwich too many that tasted fine but not right. This small chunk version is the one for anyone who mostly eats it in sandwiches and wants it spread evenly, not piled up in one corner.

It comes in a 350g squeezy bottle, and the small chunks are cut to come through the nozzle without a fight. Keep it as the label says once it is open, and stand it upside down in the door so it is ready the second the bread is buttered.

People tend to pick it up with a sharp mature cheddar, a crusty loaf, pork pies and sausage rolls. If you are a chunk loyalist who likes a spoon in the jar, Branston's original pickle is the classic, and this is its tidier cousin.
