Morrisons Salted Caramel Fudge - 150g

Fudge has always been the slightly grand cousin in the British sweet aisle: the one in the gift shop, the one on the café counter, the one your nan kept in the good tin. Salted caramel fudge has since settled in as a supermarket favourite, sitting a few feet from the teabags where it can do the most damage.

If you are in Canada typing Morrisons into a search bar, you are not after any old fudge. You want the bag from the weekly shop, the one that came home with the bread and milk and somehow never lasted till Tuesday.

It comes in a 150g bag, which is either a week of sensible pieces after dinner or one film, depending on who is holding it. Fold the top over, keep it somewhere cool and dry in the cupboard, and pass it round with a cup of tea. A piece is also a very fair reward for doing the washing up.

People rarely stop at the fudge. It tends to go in the basket alongside a box of proper British tea and a packet of biscuits, which is a full afternoon sorted.
